25 modifieds checked in at South Coffeyville Saturday night. John drew 37 and that put him on the inside of row 2 in the 4th and final heat race. The track was slimey and hard to pass. John finished 4th.
In the A feature John started 16th. The first yellow flag flew after only one completed lap, John had already raced up to 12th. As the laps continued on John marched up through the field. He found himself in 4th with only a handful of laps remaining. Towards the end of the race the track started to get one lane at the top. John could dive down on the bottom and pass the 2nd and 3rd place cars, but could never make it stick. John held on to finish 4th.
