John started the third heat race on the front row outside.  He won it in dominating fashion.  After figuring passing points, all the heat race winners started on the outside front row, so that meant John would be starting 3rd.  On the start John raced side by side with the 18R of Rodney Sigg and when he finally cleared him, John drove off running down the leader and pole starter Justin Folk, #6.  On lap 12 John got right beside Justin was going for the lead when the yellow flag flew.  Since Humboldt does "Texas restarts" where the leader is out front and the rest of the field starts side by side, John was once again starting beside the 18R.  This time John was unable to get by Rodney and was running third.  Then, on lap 15 both Rodney and John passed the leader and raced the next five laps side by side.  John was unable to grab the lead, but ran second by only inches.  It was a great race to watch!
Right now we are watching the weather and deciding where to run tonight.  Coffeyville is on the schedule for Saturday night, but other race tracks that we may decide to race at are Nevada or Heartland Park.  I will post where we are heading as soon as I know!  Hope to see you there!
