DNF IN HUMBOLDT

John drew #1 to start on the pole of the first heat race. He was running 2nd when he went to pass the leader, 9d of Scott Daniels. They made contact and John went flying into the infield. He kept going to finish 5th. That put him starting the inside of the 5th row for the feature. The car was still not working that well, but when the yellow flag flew on lap 10, he was up to 5th. He raced up to 3rd and it looked like that is where he would finish until the last corner of the last lap. He went too high in turn 4 and hit the wall. He was able to drive it into the pits, but did not finish the race.
