John raced at Lakeside Speedway Sunday night. He started 2nd row in the 1st heat race. Dustin Boney started on the front row and would take the early lead. After John got to 2nd he ran down Dustin and passed him for the win!
In the feature John would start on the pole. On the first start John took the lead and the field only got one lap in before the yellow flag flew. On the restart John pushed up in turn one and that allowed #96 of Chad Lyle to get the lead. Chad and John had a good race and distanced themselves from the field. As the race rolled on the 1K of Tim Karrick found a line around the top of the track and found himself in 3rd. John and Tim would battle back and forth for second as Chad would widen his lead. With only two laps to go the yellow flag flew again. John restarted 3rd and decided he could either run 3rd or try to go high and pass Tim. He drove in too hard into turn one and spun out all on his own. The right rear tire was blistered and he just didn't have enough left to make the pass. John would have to restart at the back with only 2 laps to go. He ended up finishing 17th. Chad Lyle went on to capture his 2nd win of the season.
