History of John Allen Racing

Born and raised in Chanute, Kan., John Allen has become one of the most successful drivers in the Modified division. John started racing at the age of 16, driving Street Stocks in Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. Late Models followed four years later and in 1991 John began his Modified career, driving throughout the Midwest and South.

Following the USMS Modified tour (now USMTS) in 1995 and 1996, John finished second and third, respectively, in points. He began the 1998 season following the NCRA Modified Series, finishing second in points.

The 1999 season saw John dominate the NCRA Modified Series, winning numerous features throughout the Midwest and collecting his first NCRA Modified Series Championship. The 2000 NCRA season proved to be a close race in points, culminating the last week of the season with John defending his title. The 2001 season saw A&A Racing and John Allen making it three in a row for an unprecedented third consecutive NCRA Modified Series Championship. In the 2002 season, John finished third in NCRA Modified Series points, closing the gap with the leaders in the final races.

From 2003 to 2006, John enjoyed competing at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series, while also competing many USMTS, NCRA and open events throughout the Midwest.

In 2007, John added two more track championships to his resume, winning the Modified Track Championship at both Lakeside Speedway and Heartland Park Topeka (Kan.).

For 2008, John is planning to travel more and race at the big money shows. Check the schedule page often to see where John will be racing near you!
