WIN #17!

STARTED 3RD

FINISHED FIRST!!

22 modifieds gathered for the last race of the season at Humboldt Speedway.  John started on the pole of the first heat race after Carson Allen drew #1!  He took the win in dominating fashion!  In the feature John started second row inside.  On the start the polesitter, 9d8 of Paden Phillips took the lead and John settled into second.  They raced side by side, but Paden would always be in front at the flagstand.  The race went green for about 17 laps then lapped traffic changed everything.  John finally was able to get by Paden, but the #7jr of Jess Folk Jr. passed everyone low to take the lead.  Now John was still in second, but was following 7jr.  This is where the caution flage seemed to fly more than the green.  John was able to take the lead on the restart, only to have the yellow come out again and put him back to 2nd.  Finally John captured the lead and held on on lap #25.  Lap 26, was the diffucult one as it took 5 restarts to finally get it going.  John held on though and captured his 17th win of the season and number 10 at Humboldt Speedway!  #52 of Ryan McAnnich finished second, Jess Folk Jr third, Travis Smith 48s fourth, and Josh Everhart 21J rounded out the top five.

John is going to run a USRA special race at West Siloam Springs, AR on Saturday!  Hope to see you there!

Allen claims Humboldt Speedway finale

by Scott L. Stewart

HUMBOLDT, Kan. -- The 2013 season at Humboldt Speedway is in the record books.

While Wichita's Ryan McAninch was crowned the 2013 track champion in the USRA Modifieds, it was John Allen getting the victory Friday night as he makes his charge toward the USRA Modified National Championship.

The season was capped off with a special 30-lap main event in USRA Modifieds, where every lap had it’s own sponsor. The driver who led that lap received $25 and if a driver led every lap the prize was $750.

Paden Phillips led the most laps, but succumbed to mechanical issues in the end. Jess Folk Jr. led the second most laps, but finished third. Allen led the third most laps, but, led the most important lap of all: the last one.

McAninch finished second. Folk, Travis Smith and Josh Everhart composed the rest of the top 5.
