21 modifieds gathered for opening night at Humboldt Speedway. John started 2nd in the 1st heat race. Polesitter Randy Zimmerman took the early lead until he had motor troubles and had to pull in for the night. John won the heat race and that put him starting front row outside in the A. John led the race wire to wire with a lead up to a full straighaway at times! This is the first win of the year and the first time Carson got to be in victory lane....hope there are many more to come!

Humboldt checkers wave for Allen

HUMBOLDT, Kan. -- John Allen blasted his way into the record books Friday night at Humboldt Speedway by winning the first official USRA Modified feature of 2012.

Allen's closest nemesis was runner-up Justin "Whitey" Folk. The duo were tied for the lead at several points but Allen proved to be stronger off the corners in holding Folk to second. Jess Folk Jr. tallied the third spot, holding Scott Daniels and Brian Bolin at bay.

Veteran driver Jack Simmons continues to thrive behind the wheel of Ray Maloney's #62 USRA B-Mod, winning this week's feature event after taking serious heat from runner-up Jeremy Chambers.

Trevor Hunt, the 13-year-old sensation from Kearney, Neb., returned to the speedway after his spectacular King of America win to claim third. Fourth fell to Riley Whitworth, while Jimmie Davis was fifth.

Action continues next Friday night, April 13. Gates open at 6 p.m. with racing at 8.
