36 MODIFIEDS
On Wednesday morning we headed north to Greenwood, Nebraska to race in the Charlie Clark Memorial. 36 modifieds were divided into four heat races. John started 9th in the first heat. He was able to race up to finish 5th.
The top 18 in passing points were locked into the A feature. John was 13th. The race was 44 laps with a 3 minute pit stop at halfway. The first part of the race John stayed on the bottom and was up to 9th. The track had about a lane and a half around the bottom and passing was difficult. The pit stop allowed three crew members to work on the car. Luke, Dylan and Kenton were able to change both rear tires, fill the fuel and do a few other minor adjustments.
During the second half John got tired of following the cars around the track and tried to make something happen on the top. He lost several spots and fell back to 15th at one time. Fortunately John was able to regain some of those positions and finish tenth.
