John started 2nd (front row outside) in his B qualifier. Only the top 3 finishers would qualify for the A main. John slipped back to 5th during the start of the race. Then as the laps clicked by he raced his way back up to finish 3rd! He made it to the A feature! He started 20th in the A and finished 16th. Not the best way to start the new season, but he learned a lot and is looking forward to racing USMTS next weekend! Hope to see you there!
FORT WORTH, Texas (March 5, 2011) - Mansfield resident Sean Jones captured his first win at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track Saturday night, earning $2,000 for the Texas World Dirt Track Limited Modified Championship.
A pair of Missouri residents rounded out the remaining divisions with Terry Phillips (Springfield, Mo.) earning his second TMS Dirt Track win in Modifieds and Will Vaught (Crane, Mo.) in O'Reilly Auto Parts SUPR Late Models. Phillips and Vaught took home $3,000 for their championship wins.
More than 200 drivers entered this year's Texas World Dirt Track Championship - an event hosted annually by the TMS Dirt Track.
