STARTED 11TH
FINISHED DQ
23 modifieds were in action Saturday night at Heartland Park Topeka. John started on the front row outside of the first of 3 heat races. He led every lap and took the heat race win.
In the A feature John started 11th. The car was awesome and he drove directly to the front. On lap 3 he was in 3rd, by lap 6 he was up to 2nd and the yellow flag came out for a restart. On the restart John dove to the inside to pass the leader (44 blue), but every time he got up beside him the guy pinched him off. John even killed the motor once to keep from hitting the 44. After about 4 corners of this John decided to pass to the outside. He passed him on the back stretch and as he was coming out of turn 4 the 44 nailed John's left rear and sent him spinning in front of the field. John came in and the crew went to work to change the tire. John went back out 17th right behind the 44 car. On the restart John passed the 44 (again) along with about 4 other cars. The race only went about 2 green laps when the yellow flag came out again. On this yellow the 44 car drove up through the field to get to John, drove up beside him and door slammed him and the cut right in front of him on the front stretch. That's when John decided to take things into his own hands. He tried to spin the car around, but ending up just pushing him down the front straight sideways. Then as he approached the back straight he was given the black flag. He decided if he wasn't going to finish the race then the 44 car shouldn't either! He hit him 3 more times before he finally got his tire knocked down. John is not very good at crashing other cars on purpose because he never does it! He is not proud of his actions that night, but when a car that you have passed cleanly more than once, wrecks you and then runs into you on purpose, then you tend to get a little angry!
