18 modifieds invaded Humboldt Speedway Friday night and were divided up into 3 heat races of 6 cars each. John started the 3rd and final heat race on the front row outside. He took the lead on lap one and never looked back. In the feature John once again started on the front row outside, Jess Folk Jr. was the polesitter. 7jr took the early lead and John was right on his tail. On lap 3 John pulled out and passed the leader and then distanced himself from the pack. On about lap 10 the yellow flag flew and John's lead was gone. Johnny Bone Jr. had made his way up to second and last week's winner, 118 of Terry Beckham was running third. As the race resumed Bone made his way past John and evenually the 118 did too. The top 3 cars pulled away from the pack and it was back and forth for the last five laps. A blanket could be thrown on top of these 3 cars. At the finished Bone took the win and John slipped back past Beckham for second. It was a great race to see!
John will be racing at Heartland Park Topeka on Saturday. Hope to see you there!
