John started on the 4th row of the 2nd heat race and won it. That earned him the most passing points and he started the A feature on the pole. John took the early lead and began to pull away from the field. Then, about half way through the race, Justin Folk, #6 passed John for the lead on the inside. John was right behind him and was able to pass him back in lapped traffic. At the checkered flag the two leaders of the race were right behind several lapped cars and Justin won the race by mere inches.

WINGED WARRIORS, UNBELIEVEABLE MODIFIED ACTION IN A BIG NIGHT OF HUMBOLDT SPEEDWAY RACING!
by Scott Lee Stewart
For the first time in more than 20 years, winged outlaw Sprint Cars circled the high banks of Humboldt Speedway.
The OCRS Sprints made the first of two scheduled appearances this year at The Hummer. Before a packed house,
Even the novelty of the winged warriors couldn't eclipse the intensity of the Modified A feature. The story begins with John Allen and Ryan Whitworth on the front row. Whitey Folk starts in fifth. At the green, Allen takes off like a shot, while the rest of the field goes head to head, two and three wide. Suddenly, Whitey Folk shoots out of the pack into second. Allen and Folk, along with Brian Bolin, quickly distance themselves. Then Folk takes the lead with a low side slingshot pass. Undaunted, Allen stays right on his tail. Into lapped traffic, running out of laps, Allen pulls off a spectacular pass for the lead, only to watch Folk make an equally spectacular pass to take it back. Driving flat out, Whitey Folk takes the win by not quite a car length over Allen. Bolin was third. Whitworth finished fourth, Travis Smith finished fifth.
In B-Mods, Jay Lamons, Jr. had his car set up perfectly, and turned in a flawless performance for the victory. Being his third feature win, Lamons was the object of a mandatory engine tear down, the results of which were not available at press time. Levi McGowen mounted a valiant charge to finish second, edging out third place Dalton Kirk. Fourth went to Scott Collins, Jimmie Davis was fifth
Mark Selsor of
The Pure Stock feature race was won in commanding fashion by Mike Aiello. Jeremy Willard, Matt Habiger, Brandon Rowland, and Roger Oswald rounded out the top five.
