TENTH WIN FOR JOHN ALLEN RACING OF 2009!

John started the 2nd heat race on the pole.  He raced side by side with outside polesitter, 40 of Jesse Willard for about 3 laps until he finally broke free.  He then distanced himself from the field and took the win.  After all the passing points were figured he started the A on the second row inside.  On the start John had a solid hold on third as the top 3 cars drove away from the rest of the field.  Then on lap 3 the yellow flag came out for a pile up in turns 3 and 4.  With the "Texas restart" formation the leader, Jess Folk Jr was in the front, 2nd place 3d of Dan Daniels chose the outside and John restarted from the 2nd row inside once again.  On the restart John took second and set sail to run down race leader 7jr.  The two put on a great side by side show until about lap 11 when John drove the 98 machine to the lead.  He then began to distance himself from the rest of the pack.  He won the race by about half a straightaway.  7jr settled for 2nd and Ryan Whitworth, last week's winner, raced his #63 to finish 3rd.
John will racing at Caney Valley Speedway for more USRA points on Saturday night.  Hope to see you there!!
 
Tenacious Allen nabs Humboldt checkers

HUMBOLDT, Kan. - John Allen was tenacious in tracking down Jess Folk Jr. to win the USRA Modified feature Friday night at the Humboldt Speedway.

After losing a spark plug late in the race, Folk held on for second, holding Ryan Whitworth at bay.

Gary Langworthy Jr. was fourth, with Jessy Willard fifth.

Only two points nights are left this season. Mechanics races will be held Sept. 4, with powder puffs on Sept. 11. Then it's the big one: The Biblesta Bash to be held Oct. 2-3.
