With the rainout Thursday night, Humboldt Speedway decided to get all the racing done on Saturday starting at 10am! Kenton only had to run 2 heat races and the total of his 3 heat race finishes would line him up for Saturday night's features.
In his first heat of the day he started 7th. He was up to about 5th early on and as he was passing a car in turn 3 down low the other car came down and hit his right front. He had to restart in the back (10th) and even though the right front was broke he was making moves and coming up through the pack. Then in the same turn he hit an implement tire and broke the right front, His race was over. He did not finish.
In the final heat race he started 5th. On the first lap, on the back straightaway a car in front of him blew a motor! There was smoke and oil everywhere! He made it through that, restarted the race 3rd and finished 2nd! Now we're talking!
So after all 3 heat race points were tallied Kenton was slated to starte the LCQ in 5th and the top 3 would transfer to the C feature. He finished 2nd, but the winner was DQed so he was given the win! That put him starting 14th in the C, only the top 8 would transfer on to the B feature. He made it up to finish 12th, no yellows in 15 laps! He was done for the night!
Kenton will be back at Humboldt Speedway on Friday for their season opener and then on to 81 Speedway on Saturday for there season opener! Hope to see you somewhere!
