Kenton started out the night on the inside second row of the first heat race. He made it to second and was running down the leader, Tim VanGotten, when he ran out of laps. He finished 2nd. That put him starting the A feature on the outside of row two. On the first start pole sitter, Luke Phillips took the lead, VanGotten was in second and Kenton 3rd. VanGotten ended up in the turn two wall and rolled. On the restart Phillips was leading, Kenton in second and Brian McGowen in third. Phillips ended up spinning out and Tyler Kidwell now inherited the lead. The top 3 cars now are also the top 3 in points. Tyler, Kenton and Brian put a great show, but ended up finishing that way.
Kidwell wins, points races tighten at Humboldt

With one more regular points night remaining at Humboldt Speedway, the season points lead is now hotly contested in the USRA B-Mod class.
Drivers are working hard for the prestige of being crowned season champion. While official standings aren’t available at this writing following this weeks races, the tallies were definitely affected by this weeks results.
Ray’s Metal Depot USRA B-Mod action was a hard fought affair won by Tyler Kidwell, who fought off runner-up Kenton Allen.
Brian McGowen of Pittsburg finished third, Don McIntosh was fourth and Shadren Turner of St. Joseph, Missouri, finished fifth.
Tyler Kidwell won the USRA B-Mod main event.
This leads into next Friday, August 28, and the final points night of 2020 featuring a $1,000-to-win USRA Modified race.
Due to COVID-19, a banquet will not be held this year but points champions will be acknowledged. Points fund checks will be mailed to all participants.
USRA Modifieds will compete for the final time in 2020 on Sunday, November 1, as a part of a USRA Speedweeks. More details are forthcoming.
