48 modifieds competed in 5 heat races Saturday night at Humboldt Speedway. John started 7th in the 3rd heat race and finished 2nd. This put him 3rd in passing points. USMTS has the top 8 in passing points redraw. John redrew 6th. The track was slick and smooth. John was running his new "spec motor" and spoiler. The first half of the race saw many yellow flags. John was able to move up to the 5th posistion, but mostly ran in 7th. The final restart fell on lap 13 and they would race to the end of the 40 laps without caution. John held 7th posistion with the top 6 getting away from him. During the final 2 laps of the race number 33z, Zach Vanderbeek passed John and John would finish 8th. Jason Hughes took home the checkers after a hard fought battle with Jon Tesch number 14.
