John started 5th in the 3rd and final heat race.  He was going for the lead with the 3J stopped right in front of him in turn two.  That allowed the 02 to get around both of them.  John was able to pass the 3J, but ran out of laps before he could get the lead back.  He had to settle for 2nd.  That finish put him starting the A feature inside row three.  He quickly realized that the car was not set up for the slick track conditions.  He fell back and finished 12th.  He will be back in action Thursday, July 4 at Lucas Oil Speedway.
