Kenton started the second heat race dead last, or 8th. He quickly moved to the 4th position in the first lap or two. He then went to work on 3rd place, Brian McGowen. He was able to make the pass on Brian, but by then the top two cars had a half a straighaway on him. He was reeling them in, but ran out of laps.
In the feature Kenton got off to a slow start and fell back to 7th. He was able to again pass McGowen, but after a fun race with Dennis Bishop for 5th, Bishop ended up with the spot and Kenton had to settle for 6th.
