John started 6th in his heat race and was running 2nd when he hit a rut and Kerry Davis got around him.  He finished 3rd.  That put him starting the A on the 4th row inside.  The track was getting really rough and he had to drive though not only other bouncing cars, but also try to control his.  He was able to finish 12th.
