14 modifieds braved the forecast and came out to race Friday night. John once again couldn't catch a break drawing. Carson drew 91. That put John starting dead last (8th) in the first heat race. He was able to finish 4th. That put him starting 3rd row inside in the A main. The race started out full of cautions. On the first lap a bunch of cars got together and John had some sheet metal damage. Then as the race finally got going it was really boring. Top 4 cars pulled out on the field, but there was hardly any side by side action. They were strung out and looked to all be going the same speed. Then, with only 3 laps to go, either John got faster or the the top 3 slowed down because we were suddenly up beside the 3rd place car! Finally some action! John passed for third and then was able to pass again and finish 2nd! Paden Phillips took the win from the front row, Tad Davis 3rd, and Chase Domer 4th. Tyler Davis rounded out the top five.
John will be back in action on Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway!
Phillips, Bryant top Humboldt Mods
(Humboldt, KS) — Paden Phillips beat John Allen to the line to celebrate the McCarthy Auto Parts USRA A-Mod victory Friday night at Humboldt Speedway. Andy Bryant topped the Ray’s Metal Depot USRA B-Mod class, while Mike Churning in Whitworth Construction Pure Stock, Tyler Davis in Sport Compact and Patrick Kay in Stock Car were also victorious.
