USMTS AT HUMBOLDT SPEEDWAY

HUMBOLDT, Kan. -- The night did not start well. There were 56 modifieds and John started 5th in the 5th heat race out of 6 heats.

On the start he got into the back of a car that stopped at the flag stand and another car hit John from behind. He ended up with a flat tire and had to pull in. The crew got it changed, but the field had already taken the green flag and John was about a half a lap behind by the time he hit the track.

There were no more yellows and John ended up finishing 7th. That put him starting 10th in the second B feature and only the top 4 would transfer to the A. John was running 6th as the field came out of turn four for the checker. The two cars right in front of him got together and John was able to pass them to finish 4th!

In the A feature there was contact in the first couple of laps that knocked about half the spoiler off. After a lot of beating and banging John was able to finish the race in 17th.
