If only there was a prize for the most second place finishes in one season, we would be WINNING!  Friday night at Humboldt Speedway saw 14 modifeds with 2 heat races.  John started 3rd in the 2nd heat race.  He finished 2nd.  Dalton Kirk #30 took the win from the pole. 
In the A feature John started second row outside.  Randy Zimmerman started on the pole with Johnny Bone Jr. on the front row outside.  On the start Bone took the lead and John and Randy had an epic battle for second the entire race.  John could get up beside Randy, but could never get by him.  The race went entirely green and John just kept working the bottom.  Finally, on lap 22, John overtook Randy for second.  Bone was way out on the group and John gained on him a little in the final laps, but there wasn't enough time.  Bone took another win, John finished 2nd, Jess Folk Jr got by Randy Zimmerman to finish 3rd, Randy was 4th and Chase Sigg rounded out the top 5.
John will be back in action on Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO.  Hope to see you there!
 

In the USRA Modified feature, Johnny Bone Jr. qualified for the outside pole, and from there did what he does best: drive to victory. But boy, what a race for second.

It was Randy Zimmerman for the bulk of the wire-to-wire race, until a neat move by John Allen put Allen in the second spot. Then it became a duel between Jess Folk Jr. and Zimmerman for third.

Right down to the wire, Folk persevered for third. Zimmerman was a very close fourth and Chase Sigg rounded out the top 5.
