RUNNER UP AT HUMBOLDT SPEEDWAY

After hustling back to Kansas John and crew spent the day getting the car ready for the USRA race at Humboldt on Friday.  He started on the front row of his heat race and finished a disappionting second.  That put him starting 7th for the A main.  John quickly drove to the front but each time he was about to pass for the lead the yellow flag came out.  He ended up finishing second by only about 6 inches and everyone in the crowd knew he had the fastest car on the track!  John will be back to racing with the USMTS on Saturday and Sunday.  Hope to see you there!
 

Jess Folk Jr. wins USRA Modified thriller at Humboldt Speedway

HUMBOLDT, Kan. -- Jess Folk Jr. won his first USRA Modified feature of the 2012 season at the Humboldt Speedway Friday night, holding off intense competition in the process.

“Pee Wee” was a rocket everywhere on the Hummer's high banks, except going into the the number three turn where the car was tight.

It was here that abundant driving skill paid off, as time and again Folk held back Justin Rexwinkle, John Allen and younger brother Justin Folk.

Allen, the runner-up, was strong late in the race and missed the win by about five feet at the checkered flag.

He, in turn, was pressured by third-place finisher Folk while Rexwinkle tallied fourth with Brian Bolin in fifth.

Jimmie Davis was on top of his game as he won the Ray’s Metal Depot USRA B-Mod feature, leading wire to wire.

Leon Bash, Jeremy Bennett, Jeremy Wilson and Kenny Shaw rounded out the top five.
