FINISHED: FIRST!!
27 modifieds checked in at Humboldt Speedway on Friday night. They were divided into four heat races. John started 5th in the third heat race. He finished 2nd behind the winner 2X of Brian Bolin.
In the A feature John started second row outside or 4th. The only yellow flag of the race came just after lap one when a bunch of cars were stacked up in turn three. John had made it up to third by that time. The #6 of Justin Folk was the leader and the #X2 of Brian Bolin was in second. As the laps started clicking away Folk and Bolin were running the top and John stayed on the bottom. He could get ahead of Bolin coming out of turn two, but the Bolin would get back by John in three and four. As John kept working the bottom Bolin decided to go high above Folk. The three cars went three wide lap after lap!! It was unbelivable! Then John finally got the bottom to come in and took the lead. He was never too far away and lapped traffic made it even more exciting!! Bolin and Folk continued to battle and then the #12 of Johnny Bone Jr. got into the mix. John took the win, Folk was second, Bone finished 3rd and Bolin was 4th! It was a great battle and a fun race to watch!!
