28 modifieds were divided into four heat races Friday night at Humboldt Speedway. John started 5th in the third heat race. The car was too tight and John did all he could and managed to finish 5th. He then started fourth in the B feature. After a good side by side race with the #17 of Lucas Conley, John took the lead and never looked back.
In the A feature John started 16th. As the cars came around to finish lap 4, John was up to 10th, the car in front of him drove into turn three and pretty much stopped. John had a run on the bottom and couldn't help but get into the other car and spun himself out. John had to restart the race in the back in 20th. The yellow flag flew again on lap 9 and John was up to 13th. He worked his way to the front, the car was really moving, but John had to settle for 6th. Top five finishers were Johnny Bone Jr, Brian Bolin, Dustin Boney, Terry Beckham, Justin Folk.
John will be at Humboldt Speedway most of the day on Saturday working with the Brooks/Shaw Driving School. Anyone is welcome to sit in the stands.
