15 modifieds showed up to compete at Humboldt Speedway on Friday.  John started 7th in the second heat race.  He raced up to finish 3rd.
In the A feature John started 5th.  He was good at the beginning, racing up to second right behind leader Brian Bolin, X2.  Then on about lap 8 John hit the wall in turn four and damaged the spoiler.  He slipped back to 3rd with Jess Folk Jr, 7JR passing him for second.  On lap 10 there was a yellow.  The car wasn't handling and John slipped back to fourth when #6 Justin Folk got back by him.  John ran in 4th until the next and final yellow flag on lap 15.  He then drove the car to the bottom of the track and took 3rd away from the #6.  John was gaining on second, but ran out of time.  He had to settle for third with Brian Bolin taking the win and Jess Folk Jr running second.
John isn't racing on Saturday.  Check back later to see where we will be racing at next weekend.

With only two weeks to go until Mid Season Championship, the racing action at Humbodt Speedway is hotter than ever.

Brian Bolin topped the field in the Allen Co. Chiropractic USRA Modified feature Friday night. But it was no cruise for Bolin, as Jess Folk, Jr., plagued by mysterious mechanical troubles all season, found the set up he needed and mounted a serious challenge to Bolin's supremacy before scoring the runner up spot. John Allen was strong on the mix as well, finishing third. Whitey Folk talied the fourth spot, and Scott Daniels came home fifth.

For the first time in recent memory, a bounty has been posted at The Hummer. With Jeremy Wilson continuing to win in Factory Stock, promoter Ron Whitworth has placed a $100.00 bounty for any one who can outrun Wilson. One contender might well be Tim Phillips, who finished second to Wilson this week. Third went to Billy Shadden, with Dale Price fourth and Brandon Weide fifth.

The EZ Lock and Key B-Mod feature was won this week by Tim VanGotten. Dalton Kirk, winner of last Sunday's feature, was second. Staring dead last, Jeremy Chambers took third. Fourth went to Riley Whitworth. Jimmie Davis was fifth.

In the Whitworth Construction Pure Stock feature, Jeremy Willard rools on with yet another feature win. Runner up went to David Matlock, with Brandon Rowland third, Norman Mackley fourth, and Toby Eble fifth.

This week was also the "Old Timers" reunion at Humboldt, and what more fitting way to honor the racing veterans than with an appearence by the Vintage racers. In that feature, the top five consisted of: Zac Simmons, Jack Simmons, Jason Jackson, Keith Simmons, and BJ Price.

Next week's regular program will be complimented by the OCRS 360 Winged Sprint cars, always lightning fast on the Hummer High Banks.
